Notes from Dan the Trail Guy #48

Two Quick Updates
1. Dance Tickets: The absolute last opportunities to get your tickets for the Runners of Compassion – Bastion Running Club WINTER DANCE is today and tomorrow. There are still a few tickets available at Frontrunners for those of you that are late in deciding (150 tickets sold so far…yahoo!!) All monies must be paid to Kathleen, Judy or dropped at Frontrunners by the end of clinic Tuesday evening. Oh, by the way, I am not a fashion consultant and therefore cannot tell you what to wear to the dance, so please stop asking me. It is a dance, so wearing your smelly running attire would probably not be a good idea. Last year there were skirts, dresses, slacks, and dress pants and sports jackets. Even a suit in the crowd if I remember correctly. Who cares what you wear, just come and have fun. Please Remember that we are not serving you dinner – just hors dourves,

Hey, please try to bring something for the food bank or a piece of warm winter clothing (coat, socks, toques, etc). If we all bring a little something, we collectively can help a lot of people.

2. Bike Course: The “Introduction to Technical Mountain Biking” course is this Saturday. Here are the details.
· Time: 7:30 am
· Location: Top of Dumont Road. Continue driving up the road past where we usually start our runs until you come to the barricade and can go no further. DO NOT BLOCK the gate please.
· You must have a helmet. Bring gloves if you have them along with a water bottle. A change of clothes is a good idea if you want to go to coffee afterwards.
· $10.00 cash or cheque. Sean is donating the proceeds of the course back to ROC…Thanks Sean.
· So far we have about 20 people coming.
